Is the original starter MITSUBA SM-8203

Below is a link to a rebuild kit for the MITSUBA SM-8203 starter. I do not see any magnets; do you? Ed

I'm not sure what you're trying to say here. There won't be any magnets in a rebuild kit: the magnets are permanent parts of an electric motor and are generally epoxied or similar to the inside of the motor housing. They are not intended to be replaceable.

If the OP has a broken magnet in his starter motor I think the only practical option is to replace the motor itself.

Exactly. The magnets are not part of the rebuild kit and are (to my knowledge) not available as separate parts for rebuilding starters. Ed

The best suggestion I have for you is to get another starter and take the best parts of the 2 to make 1 good starter.

My starter quit working, and yes, the brushes were almost completely worn away. I have bought some imported rebuild kits for about $20. on Ebay. Everything was just fine, although the little alignment tab on the plate were off slightly simply meant that I had to file it down and manually align the plate. Otherwise it all works well.

Yes, I saw this kits in ebay, but my problem are the broken magnets.
I thought, what could be another model of Mitsuba starter (other motorcycle brand) work it for KZ 440.

I found this application chart. The formatting is jacked up a bit, but after a quick perusal, I did not see another bike using the SM 8203. Maybe a closer look will reveal one.

Hi, I had the same problem with the starter - a broken magnet. I glued it to the LOCTITE Power Fix Gel and it works perfectly now.
