Paul that would be great if you mail it to me, it looks like it's the problem. I ran the bike on the battery only with the charging system unhooked I still had the problem.

Shipped this morning, FYI you are going to need to to use one of your connector ends because I cut the end off and used it to hook up my Dyna S but the unit is good. Hope it fixes your problem.

My long-gone '77 Z1000 had the same kind of problem, revved cleanly then started to break up at about 6500-7000. After trying a lot of other things, I had my mechanic lube the spark advancer, which completely solved the problem - presume your 750 has the same system ,so worth a look.

Struggled with IC ignitor issues last year. My manual (1981KZ1000-K1 LTD) has good troubleshooting checks for it but must use an analog meter to get the correct readings. Lots of folks told me my problem wasn't my ignitor, that they rarely fail. Again, going by the readings and findings from my manual mine was bad. Had a jumping tach too. So, a nos ignitor isn't available and buying a used one from ebay is taking a chance. Upgraded to the Dyna S system. Simple to install, affordable and absolutely fixed my problems. Fixed my jumping tach as well, rock steady now. Good luck with your problem, just wanted to pass on the Dyna S is a suitable option.

I'm surprised to hear the igniter is not available. The police bikes used them well into the 1990's, and the pickups are still available. (Cannot check Kawasaki.com right now, the site seems to be down.)
But either way, they were $500+ last time I checked.
