OK, found it in your build thread....80's nighthawk 550 taillight with chinese LED circuitry fitted inside. It does fit the shape of the tail nicely. Let me know if you find your video...would be cool to see.

as I have to change lanes to keep from being greasy spot on main street all that does is increase her fine after she runs over me

1980 LTD 1000..,1976 LTD 900, have the 1000&900 now. the rest are previous= 1978 KZ 650 B.., 1980 Yamaha XT 500..,1978 Yamaha DT 400.., 1977 Yamaha yz 80..,Honda trail ct 70.., Honda QA 50...5-1/2 hp brigs & straton CAT chopper mini bike...3-1/2 hp mini bike (WHEN GAS WAS ABOUT 45 CENTS A GALLON)!!!!

In addition, mine has the intergrated turnsignals, but I like external, smaller signals anyway, so I am running both in parallel.

Looks good, thanks. That's what I'm looking for, others that have tried specific lights. I'd just hate to plunk down $90 and then find out it doesn't fit and looks terrible. Is yours the same as Ramtough's? It's just so hard to tell from pictures.
It fits the 1000 tail nicely, but wow, as Mark pointed out, it looks like it was made for the Z1 tail....as seen in ramtoughs post, picture shown below:
