One of my intake boots is fine. The other is a different story...
Check out this hack job; I'm dreading trying to get this off. Who would do this!
I'm thinking most of the gunk will be down in the float bowl/needle area. I'm still waiting for the boot to get here before I remove the carbs. I'm anticipating needing new gaskets, as I have no clue when the carbs were cleaned last.
The intake boot from Dime City Cycles does fit with a little modification. I doubt that replacing both of them would work since the new boot is a little offset from the carb; it would probably take a lot of force to get the carbs into both boots. I'd say if anyone is looking for just one replacement boot to pick one up, it was a good deal for $20 bucks.
Well I cleaned out the carbs and the tank (I found rust in the float bowls, I assume this was clogging the float needle and causing my overflow problem) and installed new fuel filters. Now she runs great and doesn't leak any fuel.
Now it's just throttle and pilot screw adjustments and I should be set
