It looks like all the HEI modules I see say 7500rpm...

A v-8 car fires 4 times per crank revolution. The KZ fires once. The HEI should be good to 30,000 RPM on a KZ.
The schematic is on the last page (page 12) of the Mattylight Bare Bones thread. Link is in my signature.

So, I took your advice, I got 2.2 ohm coils, and im looking at setting up this HEI ignition, but the description says not to use coils below 2.4ohm. I dont really understand the role of coil resistance.

When I first designed it, I used actual measured specs, but a 2.2 nominal coil will measure significantly more than 2.4 ohms after it warms up.
So I started changing the specs to nominal versions, since that is what manufacturers will publish, but I probably missed a few.
EDIT: Thanks for pointing that out. The drawing should say 2.2 ohms. But I see in the text of the webpage I missed where is says "2.4".
I'll try to change that in the near future, if I can remember that long.

Yeah, I must have forgotten to update that spec. 2.2 is fine.notaduc wrote: So, I took your advice, I got 2.2 ohm coils, and im looking at setting up this HEI ignition, but the description says not to use coils below 2.4ohm. I dont really understand the role of coil resistance.
