Kawasaki Parts Diagrams

In the past I could access parts diagrams for my 1982 KZ1000J on the Kawasaki website. Can no longer pull up the old microfiche. Has anyone else had this problem? Also, need to replace my starter and the shop manual says to remove the cam chain tensioner and carbs. Just wanted to confirm that they had to come off to get at the starter before I start ripping it apart. Thanks.

Just visited kawasaki.com where the parts diagrams for 1982 KZ1000J seem at this moment to be accessible as usual.

Good Fortune! :)

The Kawasaki site is currently running and I was able to look at your microfiche. And the shop manual does state that you are to remove the carbs and tensioner to access the starter motor.

Thank you guys. I am obviously having a problem with the settings on my computer as I just can't get it to open. Maybe my anti-virus software is interferring. I was able (thanks Mike) to download a great pdf for the R1/R2. I would guess lots of those parts are also used on my J2, but would love to have a version of that for the J2. Will keep looking.

Yes, sometimes after the settings on the computer change etc, instead of seeing the fiche, you get a "pop-up blocked" banner. If you click on the banner you will see the option to temporarily allow pop-ups. That will usually get the fiche up and visible.

kawasaki.com for some inexplicable reason won't download.

Will probably mysteriously re-appear in a little while.

This seems to happen occasionally, but not very often.

Good Fortune! :)

I've never been able to download stuff from Kawasaki.com either. I also have poor computer skills.

Still having some sort of puter problem. "Block pop-ups" is off, yet still won't allow access. Tried the "if your browser does not take you there" link and just get an error message. But, do appreciate the help!
