I was considering using the GM coils because brand new, they only cost $20 each ( a few years ago) that saves $180 over the Accel coils I normally use.
Also by altering the dwell on a stock KZ ignition, I could run those coils with no ballast and use less than half an amp on average to run the ignition at idle. The stock system uses about 3 to 4 amps at idle. Getting an extra 3 amps from the charging system, at idle, would go a long way to recharge the battery in stop-and-go city riding.
