Thanks for all the input. Once it's warmed up and I have a little bit of time I'll tackle it. I like the idea of the fuse box substitution, if that can fix the problem, I'll be golden.
Is there a replacement fuse box that will fit in place of the original?

The ATO/ATC blocks are small, and can fit in the same area as the stock fuse box. You may have to screw it down to something.

ZappBranigan, if you’re up for a project here is a little circuit I added to my fuse box. It turns on a LED next to the fuse that's blown... not bad for night failure.

On these older bikes a lot of the problems are electrical connections, clean and reconnect. Replace fuses with a main fuse block; i.e. P/N AF-CFB4 from
www.wiringproducts.com
. Plus everthing thing these guys have said: follow wires-dielectric grease........Good luck. jona.
