I'm considering replacing my key ignition switch with a toggle switch. I understand that their is a certain risk in doing so, but was wondering if anyone has done this on a kz. It looks like I will actually need two switches to do it correctly....anyone?

Same time, why would you even want to do this?
On a drag or racing bike I'd totally understand but on a street bike...
Anyone have a schematic for his bike (1980 KZ250)?

It turns on the tail light if you have parked on the side of the road for (1980) safety.

PARK is the far right position of the key, 1 click past ON.
It turns on the tail light if you have parked on the side of the road for (1980) safety.
OH! That's kinda cool, but I'm pretty sure mine is only a two position switch...will check it out later...

If you want to make it difficult to steal, have several switches with dummy wires with the same color code scattered around the bike. Or more than one toggle switch in the ignition circuit only wired backwards(I.E. off for on).
That is the main reason I'm not sure I want to do the toggle switch. Though it would be simple for me to wire a hidden battery cutoff switch to increase security...

I COMPLETELY agree with this statement. No matter what it has for security, someone that wants it bad enough, will find a way around it and take the bike...
