OK, so I just took the carbs off the bike, and there is a small puddle of fuel in the carb holder on the #1 Cyl. There's also a yellow trail of fuel running down into the cyl. and the plug and intak valve was covered in fuel.

This was the only thing I have noticed so far that was deffinately not happening before.

Could this be the magic - plug not firing - problem cause?

I know its probly just the float valve sticking... I'll have to get into it after work...

Any opinions?

More to come...

Well, I hav'nt solved the issue yet. Its almost all but eliminated.

I removed all of the carb float valves and cleaned them real good, replaced orings, now no leaks.

Reset float heights, and installed a custom baffle into my 4-1 open exhaust. Now I've gained a little bottom end back and it hasnt seemed to affect the top end so much, which is good...

It's smoother delivering power on takeoff now, but still hiccups every fifth or so takeoff. not bad like before, just a single blurp, then she rockets forward.

All four pipes are good and hot too.

Putting in new pilots today...

We shall see...

There you go... excellent! ;)

"just a single blurp, then she rockets forward."...
Is this from a dead stop or low range when she hesitates?

If low range then this is you needle jets!
Pilots are for the most part just idle....

Change your clip clip positions for more richer and test drive... Then do your pilots last... Get this corrected first.... ;)

Well, here's the strange thing that I've found so far...

If I richen the needle (higher) then it becomes worse, but if I richen the idle mixture it gets better.

What I've found so far with the BS34 CV carbs, is that you can alter the farthest forward mixture port in the bore (after the throttle butterfly), but the ports at, and just behind the butterfly are pilot jet dependant. The bike only really hiccups at about 1/8th throttle. Not at any higher throttle, nor at idle.

It's just weird too, that it only SEEMS to be the #1 cylinder when I'm looking thru the colortune...

No pilot installed yet - bad weather.

OH yeah, I've been reading alot more and your totally right, re-jetting should begin with the mains, then needle, then pilot. Otherwise its a crap-shoot apparently
