That just proves my point, Steel, I'm a complete ignoramus on electrical/electronics. What I was referring to was actually "Suppression", which only shields other equipment from ignition interference (radio, intercoms, whatever.), and has nothing to do with interfering with the ignition. Man, I was way off on that one.
It turns out I may have a problem with a failing IC Igniter. Yes, after switching the sparkplug wires, the problem went away for about 30 miles, and then came back with a vengeance. The problem going away at the time of the wire switch was just a coincident, had nothing to do with it.:blush:
So, my bike is down until I can afford a new IC Igniter:(

I am having similar problems with a 79 Kz1000 i have changed out coils/wires and ignitor box(mine is a Dyna 3)it has the WG coil mod has plenty of voltage to coils 12.5 to 13.5.nothing seems to makle a difference.
