Need a little help with points on KZ650

i was just wondering right now i am having a problem with my 79 kz650b fire the same way one side fires and the other side doesn't one side of the points move the other doesn't .. my question is can i take the electronic ignition off a new kz that comes stock and wire it to my bike and do away with the points all together??

You will need the pick up coils(Kawasaki calls them Pulsing coils),a mechanical ignition advancer, and an IC Igniter to make the new system work.

It might be less of a bother by installing a Dyna electronic ignition.

yeah i think i am going to go with a dyna S but not sure if i have to use aftermarket coils with it

Two places to ask: www.z1enterprises.com or Dyna. Of course Dyna will say to but their coils, but I'd think a good 3 ohm motorcycle coil will work as well.
