Hey dave sorry my phone crapped out on me the other day . Then got busy getting the plow trucks rigged out again . Had everything put away . Got snow yesterday and forecasting another big storm tuesday . Havent had snow in march in years . Guess winter isnt over in the northeast. Will give you a call in the next few days . Will make sure the phone is charged up this time .

Got side tracked with a customers KZ1000 but had some time to mess with this this thing.
I decided since I've got all the gaskets and a set of new Kaw. rings I'm gonna just swap on a ZRX head and do the downdraft
head later.

ZX cams look to be in great shape so them and the ZX double valve springs will go in the ZRX head.

Pistons look good for the miles on the motor so a quick hone and new rings and I should start putting it back together today.

Also needed to figure out what to do for handle bars with the forks slid up they needed to be moved forward
a few inch so played around and with moving the fairing down and forward a little I came up with this.

Got a little more done got the handle bars are tack welded enough to get a feel for the placement.
Moved the fairing around a little to work with the bars ended up lowering it about 3/4" and rolling it back just a little.
Brake's are done on both ends.
Fitted the chain and looks like I'll need to swap to a ZRX front sprocket and spacer then have the rear sprocket carrier
machined to move the sprocket in to get the chain passed the frame tube.

On to the cylinder head got the ZRX head out to see what needs done to it and being me thought the stock ports look
like shit so fixing that issue.

Got the port work done still need to take it and have the valve job done finish getting the motor back together.

I"m caught up with customer work till part's get here so should have some time this week dig this out and get the head done.

Over the weekend I dropped the head off to have the valve work over the week end and should get it back Monday.

Curtis went out of town last week so my head didn't get finished but he said I should get it back tomorrow.

Moved it to the A/C side of the shop so I can work on it.

Had a few hours this morning to mess with the chain and sprocket alignment and looks like
I need to take about an 1/8" off the motor side of the off set front ZX sprocket and the same off the rear sprocket carrierto get the chain past the frame. If I use the flat ZRX front sprocket the chain will get into the tire.


Lower shock mounts on this arm are not in the right place and pull the shocks in at the bottom but an easy fix
I'll cut them off and make a new set.

Had a good two day's to work on this and got to this point.
