OMG I would love to make that happen, but I owe Brandy that 10 year anniversary trip on our 12th anniversary if you know what I mean. I just bought the plane tickets to Culebra via San Juan, and I suspect that the 2011 GP is most likely out of reach. It's the end of July, right? It's a veeerrrry slim possibility, but if I thought that I could make it, I would. Right now I would say that my chances are 5% or less.

Not sure why it was boring for you, Turn 16 is the place to be. Indy itself isn't for me, sorry not trying to offend any Indy boys here!




As far as Austin goes... well it's just too damn far away as I hate to fly! Not likely I'd make the trip down there on the KZ plus when exactly are they going to have the race? Surely not in the summer months in Texas.

I'm supposed to do the lap this year at the Indy track, hopefully at least one of the monkey's I'm going with will be able to operate a camera so I can have something to remember it by when I get even more senile!

The infield is too flat. I've never seen a great track in an infield to date. It did the job, excluding the F1 fiasco, but it was never "amazing". Indy is a circle track, always will be. There's plenty of people who want that type of racing, let them have it. Don't try to make it an "all-in-one".

for what it is worth...i get screaming deals from the manager at a certain souvenir shop ....

once when i was in shopping in 2010 ,this person had just finished attended a meeting a few days before,after Rossi broke his leg 2010,to figure out what needed to be re-printed or what orders for stuff would be better.....Super cool and pretty hot....i shop there often...and at 5 bucks a shirt it beats wal mart and they are cycle stuff!!!
in talking she said that the Indy race weekend was a blast and her team of sales and related personal got to go in 09 and will again that yr...we talked about motoII and red bull rookies...about the young boy in the red bull rookies who died in 09....then she said (and this was early in 2010) that she had heard it did not go off well in 09 and was a fizzle,so the race would be getting moved...this was the first i had heard of this,then more,and now it is official.....when i said it seemed to have a good show up...she said ...and this is not a dig or a joke on my part....she said...it did not play well in the mid west...wrong crowd.....

i was like wtf (to myself of course)...it had more folks than Seca got that yr......but she was done leaking details and we went back to the shirts i was buying......I since then,have always ran that over in my head ,when watching the race at indy,i sit and think ...wow ,i wonder what the wrong crowd means?......"the wrong crowd"...she had just gotten back from meetings there the year before....so she must have heard someone in the know say that to her....

Any how indy is a funny track and there are some non motorcycle sections.....texas will rock the shit outta this and cept for the corkscrew it is gonna become an American GP legend in short order.....

That's awesome, thanks for linking that. Looks like the current school pricing is $500 for the lites and another $250 to rent a 250cc Moriwaki bike. Wonder if those prices will be in effect in Austin.

Sorry, I just had a case of premature postulation and posted the same news on another thread. All of this talk about a track in Austin makes me want to rip down Lime Creek Road. Anyone else?!
