I have several restored bikes along with a 2006 Goldwing with a sidecar. My wife has a 2019 Suzuki DR 650 for on and off road.

And.. Cost of timesert kit for M5/M4 (not sure which one need to check) will probably be close to another cover.

Use the stator body screw holes as a bore guide to center pilot 6 mm drill bit, easy naa....How? It's not about just inserting it. It's about making it in correct location. Hole drilled off-center. How do I drill it to restore correct position?

Duh.. Ok. I guess I am trying to overthink stuff.

Anyhow.. M5 (this is what it is) timesert kit is like $80.
I will see maybe use my M6 timesert kit if there is enough meat and then just enlarge hole in stator body a little.. Hope it works.

There's one from a 79 model that's $28T but it doesn't have the cross-hatch pattern. None of them looked that great.
search terms I used: KZ650 generator cover. also searched KZ650 with: alternator cover. stator cover. dynamo cover. engine cover.
