Looking for a OEM or mint front mag wheel assembly for my 1979 LTD 1000. Part # 41073-1040. Also asking for help to determine if the stock rim from a 1977 LTD1000 would fit. The part # for the 1977 is 41089-005. I found one listing on Ebay for each of these part #'s but would appreciate any advice from this forum to confirm that either rim will fit my 1979 LTD

The numbers you're quoting are for entire assemblies.  They are different numbers so something about the assembly is different.  You would have to go through each item in the assembly to determine exactly what is different.  I suspect the rim from any LTD between 1976 and 1980 will fit your bike.  When I look at Partzilla I can see that the B1 rim and the B2/B3/B4 rims are still available.  Interestingly, so are the OEM balance weights, which are different from the new style.

I suggest you order the B2 assembly because that is the same number as your B3 and my B4.
I have several restored bikes along with a 2006 Goldwing with a sidecar. My wife has a 2019 Suzuki DR 650 for on and off road.

It will let you add them to your cart, but they say "not available" in the name.  I think those are long gone.

I suspect the rim from any LTD between 1976 and 1980 will fit your bike.

I would avoid the '76 LTD, as those are Morris wheels and might require different hardware or something.

I agree that the 77-80 LTD front wheels are all likely to fit and work fine.  They should all be Enkei 19" 7-spoke mag wheels, and it looks like they all came with tubes.

It's hard to know why the part number changed.  It could be some small change to the wheel itself (thickness, certification, markings, etc.), or as hardrockminer said it could be a change to any of the other parts in the assembly.

Does it need to be mint, or just OEM?  I have one that has a date code of 13 79 (13th week?), so it could be from a '79.  It's been painted, so not mint.  But it has a brand new MX tire on it from the doofus I bought it from.  :)  PM me if you're interested.
