Parts hunting has been good to me lately. About a week ago I scored another set of 33 Mikuni smoothbore for 150.00 shipped... I have lots of extra parts now, so I started the rebuild process. I found 3 out of the 8 brass floats with the outboard side Concave. All the others are convex. Are they still useable or am I lucky I have 5 out of 8 that are good? Also two of the bodies have a needle bearing pressed into the throttle shaft bore. I don’t want to remove it for fear of damage. Will it be ok to soak in Berryman’s

Those are finicky carbs Matt and no ports for syncing and the bigger manifolds didn't have them. I had a set years ago that the piece was cut-off the bracket just like yours. It's a push/pull set-up and for some reason people like to cut-off the return boss? Maybe they are loosing weight to go faster, ha. Make sure to replace the gasket under the removable slide holder or you won't get a proper signal for pilot system.

The first carb body is out of the dip and bearing is fine.

Asphalt900, I see the manifolds are missing the vacuum sync port. This could be a workaround. They could be tapped for a port.

This could be a workaround.

And then you'd also be set up to add nitrous.

Making a little progress on the 33’s. This is a combination of two sets into one rack.

They have two different style of screw holding the jet block to the main body.

Two carbs have machine button heads and two have counter sunk heads. Sense I can’t cant add meterial to them I’m going to counter sink them.

I ordered new screws from Jets R Us.
My question is what is the counter sink angle

Without any answers I dove into the all knowing internet and think I found the counter sink angle. Appears to be 80-82 degs. Ordered a 1/4 x 82deg 6 flute countersink.

Mikaw: I would try your countersink on something unimportant when you get it and see how the angle lines up with the jet. A bit of machinists dye or even a Sharpie pen may help see how the angle fits the jet.

Maybe a mod can move this to a project category.

Chipping away at the 33’s rebuild. Waiting the last few washers and screws. The jet holder fixing screw areas have been countersunk, I got the float needles and seats polished up. The jets are in the Berrymans for the night.

Waiting on the last couple caskets from Jets-R-Us. I think evey thing is cleaned and some even polished. I found the ID of the fuel transfer tubes fit nicely over some dremel attachments, I couldn’t resist.
