Working on an early Z1 set of Mikuni Stock VM28mm (1470) carbs for a friend. Went to remove the big nut on bowls to find someone had JB Welded them on. So i'm in need of a decent set of 4. No heavy pitting/corrosion inside bowls Please. Thank-You, Clay

Thanks Baldy! I know jb looses it's composure at about 550 Deg, the nuts are already out. Problem is the threads are missing in bowls. Someone used some 22mm headed main jet covers from, what looks like, trx300 quad or similar. That would of been ok being thread diameter and pitch is the same but they are stripped of threads also.

You can try calling Jim who owned Redline Cycle, he closed down the shop & works out of his home now, dont know if he kept the same #...(847) 675-2020, ...if he don't have the parts he might be able to steer you in the right direction.......Pete

We'll be at Mid-Ohio later this week. If we see any, what are you willing to pay so we don't get stuck with them?

Thanks old greek. I called the number but it was no longer in service. I see You also added a web address since I last checked, i'll try it tomorrow. Slmjim does 150.00USD sound like enough of a bargaining chip? Feel free to make some money for yourself if someone just throws a set your way. Bowls and drain nuts, be nice to finish them up. On that note here is a trick I've been doing for years on these Mikuni carbs, no more brown staining.

Yea that's Mike from Indiana. Those are for the late 74-75 Z bowls, small drain screws, won't work on earlier Z carbs. Choke p/u is in a different location and the emulsion tube is a longer hex on the earlier so the main jet would probably bottom out. Thanks for looking though!!

Not a problem, i'll find some. Mike will probably send those, if they don't sell, you showed to do my thing to them anyway. I re-plate all the metal bits and other carb stuff for him on occasion.

That's a good reference pic.

We'd already left for Mid-OH when you posted your reply. Sent a reply to your PM a few minutes ago.

Pete here is what the bowls look like. This is the rare first style ribless Mikuni VM28 Z1 1470's. All replated metal bits and ready to be wet tested.
