Hello! I'm looking for an airbox with rubber tubes for a 1983 KZ750 Twin. The previous owner cut out the old box and I would like to replace it back to original.

Thank you!

OR, just the rubber tubes because I found a good air box on eBay.

Good luck, took me a over a year to find one NOS duct and I am still looking for another. The air filter itself is hard to find too, every now and then I see an NOS one on eBay or K&N still makes one.

I did buy some silicone hose off eBay that worked for temporary ducts, I'l look that up in a minute for you. Either way I'd buy the box when you see one as it's not super common either. Make sure the cap is intact and the seal is on the cap still.

Here is what I used (although does not show available in black currently, the size is correct)

These can be cut down and will fit snugly in the airbox and fits over the carb and secures with a hose clamp. These obviously do not have a "bell" end therefore may not function like the originals in terms of a velocity stack but I did not notice any issues.

Are you sure on the size? I bought the 1.75-2" and it does not fit around the carb. It fits great in the air box but I can't stretch it around the carb side.

I just went and looked at my eBay history and that was the size. How far off is it? My carbs are with WG at the moment so I can't go check but they worked on mine.

The outer diameter of the tubes almost match up with the outer diameter of the carbs. I figured something out with adding some other rubber pieces and duct tape. :)

I found a guy parting out an '83 on eBay and got the tubes off of him. It was a pain in the butt to get them installed but now I have a new problem. They won't reach the carb. This is with the airbox bolted in place. The tubes just barely touch the tip of the carb. And I had to stretch the carb side of the tube with a pipe stretcher to make it fit around the carb. Do these really shrink that much?

Yah they do shrink down and get stiff. That's why I had to replace mine, one was so shrunken it wasn't even touching the carb and was almost impossible to get over the carb off the bike. There are some tricks to "restore" them but I did not have any luck with mine.
