Re: free items
18 Feb 2025 11:10Gizard, just too much time on my hands. It's like 1deg outside here but did notice You've a 1977 KZ1000, is that correct? I have completed banks of carbs for those too. 1977 was a weird year, Kawasaki was using-up bits from the KZ900 so that's why i call it a split year. Carbs were different in early iteration using carb holder from the KZ900 and later changed to the holder with pulley clamped on top/perpendicular to holder. All depends on frame number...
Hello asphalt900, Please let me know what you have that will fit a 1977 kz1000, mine are the 26 mm size.

GD, you didn't specify if your 1977 KZ1000 is an LTD or Standard. This is just for "correctness", they had different casting numbers on carbs. I know i have a set of the 16001-299's. These are the earliest of the KZ1000A which used the KZ900 holder bracket 16065-039. Or if total correct restoration isn't your bag then might consider Nessium (ED)'s carbs he is offering. Yes they are proper for KZ900 but fitment is the exact same thing.

I just want to make sure I read this correctly. 2 sets or Mikuni vm28 sc carbs (one full and one a parts set) for the cost of shipping and maybe a donation to the site? Is that correct? Yet no one has jumped on the as of yet.

Yes GD, everything would indicate these would be a proper fit. These frames of the KZ900 and early KZ1000's were stamped with "Japanese" serials started much lower then the "USA" frames. USA Frames started in the 500000 range. Your Japan frame range was 101-026623 from info i gathered. So your fairly low 5592 would definitely put the carbs in that range of application.
gd4now, i don't know why no interest? I would snag them up but i've already like 5 sets of these already. Two shown previously and boxes of loose ones enough to make at least 3 more. Seems though persons really want the "big nut" earlier ones or ribless.

20 Feb 2025 02:54 - 20 Feb 2025 03:00I am interested in a set of carbs that you rebuilt Clay. I want to make my 1977 look more original if possible sir. Here is my e mail suitivel gmail com. I do not know how to reach you. I never was able to find a 1974-75 Z1-900 here in my area. I love restoring these old carburetors very much. I love the way that you make yours look so clean sir! wrote: Yes GD, everything would indicate these would be a proper fit.
