WOW! I recall this bike from years ago! Just because I remembered The sign of the Devil? V.I.N. # "666"
$30,000 really? We'll see if it sells. There has been a lot of ebay cancellations I have seen lately, as same items are being re-listed?
But, if someone wants it bad enough and has money. Great!
Just like Art? Who the hell pays 10's of millions for classic paintings?

The devil bought this bike from the Satan Kaw shop in Vegas and raised hell with it.
Rumor has it the devil ran over and killed 66 young children in the streets of Vegas before being cast in the lake of fire.

A relatively new ebayer bid nine times to meet the $30k reserve.
I know nothing about the bidder, from watching auctions doubt he is good for it.

People with lots of money.
>>>>>>>>>>>> Looks very good! Currently at $30k but I'm sure it will go higher. One thing I noticed is the head. It's not original.
Vacumn fittings ?
May God have mercy on the poor sinner who buys this bike.
Oh people have money that's for sure! Watching the last Barrett/Jackson fiasco proved that to me. Money and no brains equals a ride to the cleaners. I think the Mecum motorcycle auction comes up at the end of this month so we will see how crazy people really are with their money. Do pandemics affect common sense??
For the nose bleed asking price we're gonna nit pick.
Looks like O-ring chain; somewhat wider than any non O-ring chain. Hopefully either the needed sprocket spacer is installed on the countersaft for tranny cover clearance, or a later shouldered countershaft sprocket is installed. Either way, the mating spacer should also be on the rear sprocket to maintain chain alignment.
When Mama Kaw made the switch to O-ring chains, the plastic chain guard was also slightly widened for internal chain clearance. It's difficult to see the difference unless the two are side by side. Or the chain rubs.
Tool kit & owners manual AWOL.
No clearcoat on the levers.
Chain oiler is disconnected from it's oil supply tank. The chain oil pump will be damaged if run dry.
Difficult to tell if the carbs are ribless or not. They should be for that ser.# and for that kind of money, although few survived the recall.
We find it odd that seller didn't post pics of the headstock / VIN tag / ser.# stamping. That's a detail that would be of intense interest to any knowledgeable buyer. No motor ser.# either, although the pad appears to be the correct short casting.
Overall it's a very fine example of an earlier Z1. A great 10 ft. bike. For that kind of money though, some details should be corrected, and more detail offered by seller.

A biker looks at your engine and chrome.
A Rider looks at your odometer and tags.
hardrockminer post=846269Look at the vacum synch ports. They indicate the intake boots are newer style.
The early engine brass vacuum ports are press fit into the intake port of the cylinder head.
Yes, I know. But if you look at the intake ports on the sale bike they are on the intake boots rather than on the head. And if you read the service bulletin you will see that the carb boot was the final solution beginning with S/N 2174, but this bike is S/N 666. It should have the nipples on the head, and pressed in unless the bike was retrofitted with the threaded ones according to the service notice.
I have a couple of Z1B's restored, an '80 KZ1000LTD restored, a 1981 KZ550 restored and a 2008 KLR 650 for off road fun. My wife has a 2019 Suzuki DR 650 for on and off road.
