Hi all,

I’m about to start my next build and I’m looking to sell a bunch of stock parts off this bike. Some items include:

Gas tank, side covers, tail section, seat, 2-1 exhaust (don’t know the brand), carbs (functioning and clean), tires (not rims), center stand, handlebars, chain guard, speedo/tach cluster with light tree, and possibly controls. Everything is in really good condition from a bike that seems to be garages most it’s life.

Gas tank has a blemish from a gas leak which peeled the paint. Picture included.

If there’s anything in particular you want let me know.

I don't think that's the result of a fuel leak. The location of the blemish and the construction of the tank mean that whatever damaged the paint would have been flowing uphill out of the filler hole, and there is no way regular old petrol should do that to factory paint.

It's possible someone had the tank off the bike and was cleaning the inside with muriatic or some other type of acid, and when the tank was standing on end some of the acid spilled out and ran down the front.

Hi Nerdy, no its exactly what it was. I had taken the tank off which had about a gallon and a half of premium in it. I had rested it on a wall, front of the tank downward, and when i went to grab it 30 mins later, well....you see the result. :( Didnt know fuel could do that.

Yikes! That's pretty brutal. :( Looks like it took off the entire top layer down to the primer.

I was thinking that was factory paint, but maybe someone resprayed it with a random rattle can somewhere along the way.

The yellow paint on the 400 in my avatar came from Home Depot. It's Rustoleum's durable industrial stuff - impervious to oil, gas, etc. REALLY bright, too. :)

yeah you can see it on the side covers too how this may have been a non-factory paint job after the fact. Still looks good but its showing age and slightly crack/flaking in some areas.
