You might look into a rear axle stand. I've only used one once on my brothers bike and it was quite awhile ago. Something like this, not a spool stand.

Had a coupon for this @ $17.99 so I decided to give it a try this morning. So far I am satisfied with it. A block under the stand helps.

I got one of these and use 2 large eye bolts in it and line them up with the main stand eyes and put two pins through.
