I just found a brand NEW Kobolt 26 gal. on CL. Came with a 50 piece tool kit too for $150. Its oil less but it sure beats the 2 gal pancake i've been using to fill car, atv & motorcycle tires. :S Its a little loud but for that price who cares........

Well i seen pics of the unit. It is old and is rigged up for more gallons with an external tank. Looks kinda sloppy and it is a horizontal unit 22ov. I am looking for a 110V Stand-up unit. I think I wil just try a Harbor Freight one. Craigs List is readily available in these parts of Kansas so traveling to get something is out of the question.

When looking for a compressor to use for soda blasting, aside from cfm, what pressure is required?

Yep, the red one is the one I'll probably get.

I found my setup worked better at 90 psi. they all build enough pressure it just the cfm that you need to be concerned with.

So for soda blasting, best to look for max cfm @ 90 psi.

You definitely want a large cfm for blasting, and a two stage pump would be a plus if you couldn't get your hands on a vane type pump. They're designed for continuous output.

I really like what I've got. Ingersoll Rand portable air compressor. They have more heavy duty ones too.

If you plan on plumbing the compressor in the garage/shop, avoid using the PVC pipe, if you do, it's potential bomb waiting to go off. Spend the money and get the thick walled copper pipe and the fittings. I've heard/read the PEX lines have been used for an air supply, but I don't know the pressure limits.

Black iron pipe has been used, but I don't like the rusting potential after a few years, besides, most black iron pipe is made in China and leaks big time unless you get a pipe tap and die and re-do the threads.
