boring the ol girl out this winter and can't decide what to go to...1075 is simple enuff but 1105 is bigger...heard bad things about taking it out that far...anyone done like to add anything...would rather not have to hog out the cases since it would seem i would have to split them...any info very much appreciated..

the 1105 doesnt leave enough meat in sleeves to keep cylinders round when it warms up.id be willing to bet if you built an 1105 and a 1075 identical except the bore the 1075 would make as much power and hold up longer;)

i run a wiseco 1075 pistion kit in my kz1000. you get alot more power but not quiet as much as the 1105. my friend has the exact same motor and motor set up as i do and he has just a little more power than i. not much at all to be honest but at the track that little bit of horsepower that i dont have seems to make me the first looser when we both are running. well atleast i get to be first at something...

if you run some good cams with that 1075 i think you wil be pretty satisfied with the out come. i have had my piston kit ni my bike for eight years now and have never had to pull the cylinder for anything. i have had to go into the head once since then and am fixing to go back inside to see if my cam chain is loose or one of the cam chain gears are wore. either way i am going to replace any that needs it. still thinking about forking out some extra buck to have the head cleared for bigger cams.

i agree with wireman... dont use the 1135 kit. it is a real odd ball pistion size to. if you were going to go that big i would go to the 1197 also.

you can do it with a dremmel, just go slow, test fitting from time to time to see where metal has to be removed;)
I did it to my 650 cases to run a 750 cylinder block for the 810 kit Reborn650 (Colin Firth) did the same for his I believe

I split the cases. it would be VERY hard to get all the shavings and dust cleaned out leaving them together(you really dont want that stuff in your oil:sick: ). its not really a big deal to split them anyway, just more unbolting;) and if you go that big, it would probably be a good idea to weld the crank while you have it apart to make sure it doesnt twist and make that new and expensive top end go kaboom:sick:

Just put the case boring jig on top of the case, locating it by the case to block dowels.

Put the whole thing in the boring bar. Center up on the jig and bore right down through. Go about .100 deeper than the sleeve spigot length.

There you have it. It is that simple.

1105s suck ( or should I say blow by). 1135s are not popular because the cost is exactly the same as a1200.
