The check vale tend to be clogged with rust and then get stuck = not fuel will flow back into the fuel tank.
It can be disassemble with a drift punch if needed. Take pics tomorrow....

 
 Here are the pics. Use 5 or 6 mm drift punch to unlock the press fit plug.
