Now getting 135,150,150,135. All I did this evening was drain out the fully synthetic 10w40 I had in during rebuild, and put in mineral 10w40 for first run in later this week. Put a teaspoon down each plug hole to coat new rings with mineral oil and suddenly getting higher compression. Must be more viscous. Will update in next week or two after I reassemble the vm28 pumper carbs and fit and block the fuel injector ports. Fingers crossed for a firing engine that I practically pulled out of a ditch for €250 in Ireland :)

Thanks all for the advice. First startup after a few turnovers today after the rebuild. Running on all 4 on choke only for a while today. Converting from EFI, so I must block up injector ports fully as taking air there (have read the threads on this topic). Rubber mounts are Also wrong size for carbs and not flush to head so taking air there also, so new ones on order. Will run again tomorrow and retake compression readings when hot.
