Having done a couple helicoils myself, I would recommend those for your thread replacements. Other types are available which may be superior for several reasons, but they are generally more difficult to install, and more costly to purchase. If you have limited mechanical ability or experience with things like that, it could be advantageous for you to hire out the repair to a local machine or engine shop.
You should own a Genuine Kawasaki Owners/Shop Manual from which to glean just about everything knowledge-wise about your bike. Having fourteen years companionship will help you tremendously.

A part source with part diagrams and part numbers for reference is very handy, such as the one below:

I am pretty sure the 1100 spectre uses the same 92055-1148 O-Rings that my 81 Kz uses. And this one little part appears to be the epitome of gouging, that the prevailing pricing seems to have guided into oblivion. Almost EVERY OEM labeled pic I see of these o-rings on fleabay shows quantity of 5, yet are sold in quantities of 1 for the same retail pricing WITH an additional gouge for putting a ~$8.00 stamp on an envelope to ship a dinky little piece of rubber. I was lucky that daveo spotted a package of 5 last fall for the correct pricing (thanks again, dave! I need more lol) I can no longer find a similar priced listing.

You are correct. I just ordered 3). $15 and some change shipped. I don't know why this didn't show up when I searched them earlier this afternoon, all I was finding were the 10.00 ones with +~ 8.00 shipping. Thanks AGAIN, dave-O!
