haha. When i pulled the clutch cover i found scuff marks on it from the preassure plate hitting it in operation

As an option, you can convert your clutch using some of the A Model Parts.

Do you mean the 550-A1 model? The diagrams are showing both types in the 80-81 clutch diagram, but the 82-83 diagram only shows the newer style found on the 550H. So I'm assuming the A1 has the old style & the 81-on 550As have the newer one. Thanks.

Corey means Zx550A1 (84 Gpz550) where the actuator is inside the clutch cover. No sprocket-side actuator or pushrod or ball.
