on the main bearing stiffener plates, maybe there aren't main bearing caps in the J motor and the case halves are the main bearing caps basically?

would a GM distributor from a 2.5 four cylinder work? I notice that alot of the aftermarket distributors say they are only capable of so much engine speed (like 8000 RPM) I suppose I could just try out my design and see what happens. It'll all be junkyard parts anyways.

It is the centre main bearings that have the cap which ties the crank to the upper case.
It is that, that needs machining flat and a plate fitting.
Easy to make your own from 8 or 10mm steel plate .
The ( Bill Hahn ) dizzy ignition on the drag bike is built from GM distributor parts, they run at half speed so won't see much above 5500rpm.
Spacer plate goes under the block. Won't be needed if you get the correct forged turbo pistons and the way you are talking of going I wouldn't risk using the stock cast ones.
Unless you are going big block, you don't really need bigger valves on a turbo as it's force fed especially on the inlet.
Exhaust side needs a little help so 1mm bigger there will be fine for your motor.
Same goes for porting. no need to go big. Just blending the inlets and opening the exhaust.

The pistons i found are Wiseco 1170 forged. But the compression ratio is 10.25:1 which i thought was a little high. For the ignition, im looking at old tractor magnetos right now.

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationFound a good looking ignition setup for a suzuki samurai.
I think I got all the engine stuff figured out, now im looking at the frame. Do I need to have a jig to start changing the tubing within the frame? My thought was just to saw the rear most of the frame off and keep the bit that holds the motor. Then weld in my own box steel rear end. I wouldn't mind changing the tubing just above the carburetors to give me alittle more room for the turbo and plenum. Maybe I need to move this question to the chassis area of the forum?

Looks like you did good (y) Spectras have a good solid motor. For piston try MTC allthough i believe they dropped the 1170 low comp from the the list. Try Joe at Pit stop performance
