No it's almost unbelieveable unless that Buell is BUILT to shit.
There's a few flat slick bar bike Buell's that come to our track that are pretty well built and the
don't run close to those number's in fact I have beat a few of them on the bike in my sig.
Not starting shit but it take's a built out the ass sporty motor to go a flat 10.00 sec. 1/4 mile.

Zukdave,
The Buell 1125X doesn't use a H-D Sportster engine - it is a BRP / Rotax liquid cooled V-twin, and Rotax knows how to make Horsepower....about 125 RWHP.
Still, "Magazine" 1/4 miles were about 10.5 seconds...we all should know what I mean by "Magazine"....
The ZX12R in the photo post above - sure, that is closer, maybe 145 - 150 RWHP, and good for a low 11 or high 10 second pass with an average sized experienced rider. "Magazine" times were in the high 9's back in 2000...
It takes huge horsepower / torque, and light weight bike and rider, to get a street bike into the 9's. Stock bikes that are "real" 9 second street bikes...MAYBE the ZX14R, BMWS1000RR, Kawasaki H2. Low 10's - current model Panigale, R1, Busa....

A machine shop boss I had in the rocky mountain mining country west of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, had an Evo FXRS that ran 11.16 with stock chassis, tires / no wheelie bar. I remember him saying it was $10 000, 120 cubic inch S&S motor, but it kept cracking the crankcases....

$10,000 for a motor that's twice as big as mine and it ran slower than mine will go. :woohoo: :woohoo:

Uh, that's a worse case scenario. Hi 10s, low 11s. come on man. The 12 is still one of the most potent $/perfomance bikes around. I'm only saying this because that's what my stock, unopened, stock geared, stock height bike, with yesterdays tire having every oz of air does, after a long day of work, two hours of driving, at 9K ft. That's before you subtract 15% hp. Same bike, rider at sea level, that's a mid to low 10. Not high ten or low 11
But my kerked kz1000 as it was 37 years ago, is still timeless.

And my point, buying hp in the form of a different bike cost me less financially, emotionally, economically, than tearing a perfectly good old school bike apart to achieve the same results. YMMV. My 37 y/o bike starts right up, and sings like there's no tomorrow. And the new bikes have a history they can trace. Just look at the ninja h2 seat for example. Coincidence. No way. It's all in the dna.
