I've seen some nasty rechrome jobs when they get carried away with the polishing, removing fine details and edges. You see this on parts like aftermarket steering stem bolts with the edges rounded off. That's what places call "show chrome". A place I found on a BMX forum is Dallas Plating in GA. They can do a factory style replate so welds and other details are preserved.

The stator cover I had him do I bought of ebay and had some minor blemishes that I had decided to live with after I polished it on high speed polisherand it didn't remove them all. When I picked piece up he had removed them with flapper wheel and repolished the part prior to chroming for free.

Ive got some spare engine covers I'm considering having him chrome to sell. But Im not sure what that market is on such an old bike.

Consider stainless brake lines for a touch of functional beauty. ;)

Stainless brake lines are on my list for sure. Working on chrome for now. Other than carb tops and some odds and ends im about done. Haven't decided on rechrome or powder coat for header. Since I bought engine covers from eBay I'm considering getting my spares chromed and selling them to make some of my money back.

I'd like to have another generator cover chromed, since the guy I used did a hack-job on it...twice!

The guy I use does pretty good. He actually sanded my generator cover to get all the minor flaws out and didn't charge me.

I have a spare cover but it's off a 84 1100 and although polished up nice wouldn't be suitable for chroming due to kawasaki emblem in cover. Sucks to cause is a like new cover.
