I decided to just take the cams off and do it on my work bench.
Regarding the 750... I was gonna say:
I dont know what a kz750 or gpz750 timing is supposed to look like. But...
A z1, kz900, kz1000 timing is supposed to look like my original photo when 1 and 4 are at TDC. Lobes pointing identically at each other would be stock 110 lobe centers.
I have mine turned in/down a hair (tighter/closing up centers) ... (intake advanced 4 degrees - exhaust retarded 2 degrees) so they're closer to something like 106 intake / 108 exhaust.
Also, from my understanding there's no right or wrong lobe center numbers. it just depends where you want to put the power in the RPM range. For example, 105in/107ex isn't any more right then 109in/110ex. It's just different power delivery and different torque curve. But if you did something like 115in/102ex, that's probably wrong, ha.
I'm def not a pro at this so someone please correct me if I'm wrong.
Larry? Plummen? OMR? Anybody?
I had my head street-ported by Larry C and I'm finally getting around to putting it all back together (which i'm basically done).
Hope I did a good job !?
- 1015 weisco kit
- kenny harmon L1 cams. .395 lift and 256 duration @ .050" (i'm told?)
- keihin CRS 29 carbs
- kerker esxhaust. bigger baffle
- APE valvetrain shit
It's a steet bike that I ride around the city, but also take trips on.
So I hope it hauls ass in a good manageable way.

Goggled this cam and they had a thread on here "Identify these Cams" on these...... guess its identical to a Web Cam 110 and a lobe center of 108 is recommended......... Megacycle bought the design then discontinued them ..... Larry Cav mentioned them under this goggling too so bet he'd know more....... sounds like you have things figured out so we don't have to worry about your cams not being set right too.
And I agree bike is a beauty.
