Question about Clutch for KZ750

at this point im pretty convinced that the clutch is glazed or just bad since it slips at high rpm.
I adjusted the clutch cable and adjusted the mechanism that pushes the push rod that moves the clutch, not sure what else to check, what is weird is that when i put first gear on i get this little kick from the bike like the clutch is not fully depressed. yet it slips up top as well which might be normal? i dont know.
anyways i read all sorts of review about Barnett clutches not sure what to think but i cant find a good OEM clutch.

Most of the early bikes used the same clutch

already tried changing the springs with Barnett springs, it was 14 bucks for the springs so it was worth a shot, still didn't change, plates looked good when i did the springs, but didn't really examine them.

Some manuals are ambiguous as to which direction you're supposed to turn the clutch release adjusting screw. The owner's manual probably has the correct procedure. On some 80s models, you're supposed to turn it counterclockwise first until hard to turn, then clockwise 1/4 turn. It's kinda counter-intuitive. That's how it's done on my 81 650-CSR. ---- the 750-E1 may be the same. ???matigipler wrote: i might be. i followed my (clymer) manual but it still wont feel great. im gona give it another shot tomorrow.

Welcome. Oil is very critical to KZ clutch performance being that the same oil that goes through the engine also flows through the "wet clutch". I'm almost certain this holds true for your 750.
We have talked oil on this forum many times and it's really "JA-MA" certified motorcycle oil that should be used. Modern oils mostly made for cars (and some motorcycles) have friction modifiers and low emissions modifiers for catalytic converters, etc, etc, It's actually the modifiers that can cause a KZ clutch to slip. But it will not happen in 10 or 100 miles after and oil change (it could I guess), may take a long ride or more miles for the initial slip to start happening. I'd like to know what type of oil you have in there just to be sure.
How many miles are on your bike?
