Something may be wrong then. In order for both sprocket marks to line up with the head, on both cams, the chain has to be slack in the middle. Having no chain indent would put the intake mark below the deck surface.

Corey made that special valve cover with cutouts so he could see the timing mark locations when the valve cover pressed down on the chain. He did that because installing the valve cover altered his intake timing, (presumably as designed).
