I found a diagram on www.cmsnl.com/kawasaki-1981-kz750-e2_mod...st/9548.html#results that shows that the be the stock fuse holder bracket. I guess Kawasaki wanted to make sure the fuse holder was secure. I assume the holder must slide left or right to come out of the bracket?

By the way, your bike looks like a really nice survivor that's clean and in excellent condition. I hope you plan to keep it stock as there are precious few nice ones like that still in existence. Ed

My 81 650-CSR electro stuff looks about the same as yours. To access the fuse box I remove the plastic electro cover completely, then slide the fuse box to the left out of the bracket. mine won't slide to the right because of the starter cable. You only need to clear the top tab.
