Ebay? amazon? Im sure someone here knows the best place. If it is the coil your wires need to be replaced too. As the coil goes bad your wire resistance goes up.

I was just thinking that even if my coil is going bad you'd think that if I have spark and fuel it would still fire even if it's only the right cylinder? I think tomorrow I'll put a drop of gas in the cylinder and see if I can get it to fire. That or some carb cleaner through the carbs
Try redoing the spark plug wire connections at the plug caps & coil. At the coil unscrew the ribbed compression boots. If there's the white crusty stuff on the wires, nip off the ends a tad. Or go ahead & replace the spark plug wires. You may need to clean up the coil & plug cap terminals where the spark plug wires connect. Also, go ahead & clean up the igniter leads on the other end of the coil.
I had an intermittent firing problem on my 81 650-CSR. I thought it had good spark --- checked in a darkened garage at night. nope. Redoing the connections solved the problem. I later installed Dyna ignition coils & a spark plug wire set w new boots. The coil was getting very hot to the touch & the stuff was old.
thanks for the suggestion. that sounds like a good idea. it could only make things better. i think im going to go get some wire cleaning fluid and go through ALL the connections. its long overdue
Something definitely wrong, I think it's my timing. Even though I'm getting strong spark and gas on my plugs it's not firing. When I spray some carb cleaner I'm getting a faint popping
Okay so I've just adjusted my timing and still nothing. It turnes out that faint popping is it backfiring through the carbs. I'm at a complete loss now guys
