So. I think I may have got it. The ex is just so ever slightly hidden by the gasket and maybe just maybe pointing to the head some. One pin the other direction it's pointing away a hair from the block but not as bad as last night. Thoughts? One tooth too far?

Put it together, turn it with the plugs out by hand to feel any resistance just to make sure. I think you have it but you can never be too careful.

How far is it going to move when you actually torque the cam bearing caps down?

It will be tits. You should have slack between the cams. Put it together, test it, if good, then ride the piss put of it.

Lol. Been a while since I heard the tits phrase. Anyway yes slack between them. Put it together and have 140 130 130 135 from 1-4. Here's some more photos. I think it looks tits as well.

Btw. Chain looks tight there because I have the tensioner on as I turn it over. Took tensioner off and installed everything and tensioner on. Getting sick of that thing and the 105 bolts for the cam cover.

Were those two photos taken without turning anything? If so, something is wrong. When the "Z/5 IN" and
EX" are lined up with the deck, there should be slack in the chain at the top. Yours looks tight. If the photos were taken at different crank positions, and the pin count is correct, then it's ok.

Sorry Lou, shoulda been a little more descriptive. If you look at the first post I posted tonight, you'll see only the exhaust cam, chain is slack between cams. The second post the chain was in fact tight, but thats because I left the cam cover off, installed the tensioner and tensioner cap and rotated the motor by hand. The tensioner took the slack up then. I did remove the tensioner, put the motor at tdc, and created some slack between the cams by pushing down on the chain some. I then installed cam cover and tensioner. I just wanted to make sure everything looked good before installing the cover and its 102 bolts.

I sure hope this was ok. Really dont wanna go in there again. And yes, the links were correct.

If it was one tooth advanced, the EX line would not be visible.
