Maybe I'm a bit superstitious. I believe nature abhors perfection. Trying to achieve it will only cause some other damage to occur. Maybe worse damage. Leaving your bike in a naturally degraded state will cause entropy to seek out other victims.

Sure my superstition is a bit nutty, but who spends more time riding and who spends more time fixing cosmetics? I say if it runs reasonably well when ride it.
