Do you think that's the reason the idle is a little funny after a rev is bc it's not getting circulated back into the system?

Filled the tank and boom problem fixed. What woulda thought put gas in the tank and it'll run haha. Noticed the rubber boots in between the carbs and the engine look to have cracks and possible tears. Thinking this could also be messing with the rev and idle.

You are correct, those rubber boots between engine and carbs need to be in good shape for proper running. Sounds like you need to get some new ones, bike looks good

Thanks man. The bike actually came with a spare engine with an almost new set of boots. They have now been swapped out. This bike seems to have problem after problem but I'm slowly fixing them.

You can put caps oo the fittings on top of valve cover , no problem.

The stock bike had the crankcase breather vented into the airbox.

Here's an example of using a hose from the breather vent to exit underneath the bike.

I'm not a fan of connecting an after-market filter to the vent.
