Vance and Hines sometimes have chrome issues, but a Mac is just CHEASY! Decades ago, Macs were very inexpensive and a lot of us on a budget bought and used them. Now, they cost about the same as a V&H and I see no reason to even consider them. Just my 2 cents. Yes, the Kerker is the best. It'd be Kerker8.8 of ten. Vance and Hines 7.5 and Mac 4.5. Now for all of those people that will disagree.

What is a Kerker or V&H selling for these days? Motogpwerks sell this one for about $600 delivered to your door.

I have one and it's a great pipe. Stainless steel so it wont rust and the chrome will never come off!

Don't be ridiculous! It's only a flesh wound!

Do you need to remove the pipe for oil filter access and can you keep the center stand? Thank you, Scott

Motogpwerks make a couple of different pipes. The road version can stay in place for oil changes. The race version must be removed. My pipe must be removed, but it has springs to hold the pipe onto the cylinder head... undo the springs and rear mount and it's down. I don't need to buy exhaust gaskets every time I change the oil.

I can't answer the center stand question. My bike doesn't have one.

As you can see I have Mac 4n2 on my bike, clears the oil filer and have the center stand. I think cost is around $375, I've had mine since 2008, My situation at the time I bought these was I was at the end of a "resto-mod resurrection" and seriously short of cash and wanted to ride, I would have bought a better brand if I had had the $$ at the time. AND,, I agree with the other guys posts, quality is NOT as good on MAC;s as V&H or others, and it required some slight mods to fit correctly. At the end of the day, depends on your cash flow situation, timing, and appearance requirements I guess...
Just my .02 there are probably 3 thousand different opinions most likely.

+1 on what Ed said. If you have a discerning eye, you can get used, older Mac's on eBay that are equivalent in quality to Kerker's. I picked one up and it is nice, particularly compared to the available Mac's. BTW, V&H also had quality control issue with respect to fitment.

Here is my 80 LTD with the Vance & Hines, it was More than 1/2 the price of a Kerker, you can get to the filter & plug without removing, if you have a center stand you will have to fabricate some kind of stop to keep from hitting canister ...Pete
