Oil Filler Cap Replacement, size, cross reference?

I've seen a ton of really nice anodized oil filler caps for every sport bike known to man. I'm sure some of them have to be the same as our KZ's, but which ones?

Is there a cross - reference available or anybody with actual experience with fitting a cap from another model motorcycle? I'm looking for my '78 KZ1000, btw.

I have a tap and die set will ck it later.

From the cross-reference at Kawasaki.com, a bunch of models up to 1993 used the same oil filler cap (16115-013 oil filler plug).

The part number is superseded by 16115-1062 which was used on the Vulcan 500s & the late model Police bikes.

Over a thousand models have the same oil filler plug o-ring (92055-049 "0" RING,31MM).

I have seen a guy use one from a 90's zx9, and I know that honda valve inspection covers, cb 350/750, fit too

Have you had a chance to check? I measured one and I'm coming up with the M30 x 1.50 too. I think that's it.....

This is great news! Greg Couch a fantastic machinist over on the ZRXOA makes billet oil filler caps for the ZRX1100/1200 and they fit beer bottle caps in them. So I have been making custom bottle caps in the ZRX colors and selling them to members to fit in the cap. Now I can make one for my KZ!

I haven't seen those...I'll have to check them out.

Greg is from Ohio isn't he? I almost bought a fork brace for my ZRX and I think it was from him.

I bought one of these a few years ago for my 1980 750/4 E1. The colour matched my paint. Perfect fit. I'm a satisfied customer.

I'd love to be able to have an oil temp gauge in the cap. I had an old XR350 that had that.
