That really looks like a tach gear guide leak in the photo you posted. You can see a drop of clean oil forming and about to drip off the gear guide keeper in the pic.

I'm fixing the same leak on my bike now, waiting on seal from Z1E, and it looks just like yours, but not quite as bad.

Oh man, That was cleaned at least twice?
Try again, maybe with some brake cleaner.

A couple of things I know about finding oil leaks.
On a dirty engine, look for the clean spots, engine oil will even take the grime off your hands.
Then all you have to wash off is the oil.

On a clean engine or a small leak in a tough place,
Use an aerosol "spray powder" product, foot powder or something like that.
I use a lady's spray powder deodorant,it comes in small cheap cans, makes the bike and garage smell better AND is a sure winner for driving a girlfriend or wife NUTS when you get done working on the bike and smell better then when you went out.

Thanks for the reply. I watched the thing right from start up and nothing is dripping from the tach drive at all but I did see the oil coming from the spplit keeper and form on the header keeper / holder. Good luck with your issue, just a seal I hope.

The pic was prior to cleaning to show what I called a diffuser or header keeper. I am familiar with brake clean have used lots of it and it does work great! Thanks.

Yup, mine is %100 the tach gear drive. I pulled the drive out and the little lip seal inside was bad. When I got my bike the tach cable was missing and oil was dripping out of the gear drive and off the end of the worm gear shaft itself. No biggie.

Please let us know what yours ends up being when you get it figured out. It will be good reference for others with the same type leak.
