Bought trans off ebay, pictures were wrong, its a shaft trans and guess what, 2nd gear dogs are worn at a near 40degree angle.

Garbage again.

Getting tired of this crap, about to give up on this crap and go to hondas, they dont have the power to break gears

Trying to learn from this thread so please excuse my ignorance....

Are we talking about the three tabs (dogs) on the top left gear in the photo under HEAVY DUTY TRANSMISSION GEARS near bottom of page here....

kzzone.com/trans.html

So the dogs on the second gear get rounded off so they slip out of the slots and the transmission jumps out of gear? Once it starts doing this it just gets worse and worse each time it slips out until you are left with little nubs that will no longer hold at all? Is it the input or output gear that goes bad? Plus on KZ trans when 2nd goes 5th goes with it?

And here is another page showing what undercut is....

If you need a good place to get a good trans, i know a couple people to try. I would try brain (kz1006). If not maybe try giving pearson racing a call. He might be a little more expensive, but he will be sure to get you a good one. He can also back cut them for you.

Good Fortune! :)

Yep! you can get a full undercut cluster for £200 from Joe or have your own worn dogs undercut or buy a billet second gear from ape or drop in a MK2/LTD box(slightly beefier gears and extra dogs) etc, etc. the list goes on.
