I have smoke from the connection of the manifold to the pipe of number 1. I changed out the copper ring and it still smokes a grey smoke. The smoke is increased when revving. Any ideas are helpful.

The copper gasket, when functioning properly, should disallow any leakage whatever at the juncture between the port and the pipe.

The port should be cleaned so that the new gasket will fully seal when the clamp is tightened.

Would assure that there isn't another old gasket encrusted inside the port that might have been overlooked, as sometimes two old gaskets might have been previously installed instead of one new gasket.

Would suggest a tool such as a dental pick or something similar to pick and poke around inside the port so that the port is as clean and clear as possible for accepting the new gasket.

Good Fortune! :)

It maybe a second old gasket as I know I removed one. It was mangled and fell out when I pulled my pipes off. I will definitely try that.

Thank you
