yesterday I did the drive sprocks and chain on my 650. the only thing was that the new sprocket left a gap between the wheel hub and the holes on the sprocket(as pictured). will this be a problem? if so, what needs to be done to correct?
also, the chain did not fit right it seemed on the front sprockets. i am currently opening up the casing and going to remove the nut, loosen the chain an try to reset the sprocket. If its a bad idea, anyone speak up. thanks agaiin, guys!

Align the rear wheel but don't just go by the marks on the swingarm. If the rear wheel is properly aligned you can pull the chain guard off and visually check the alignment of the chain all the way up to the countershaft sprocket. The space you're pointing to isn't good. Where'd you get the sprocket?

can you post a better picture?

when i do a chain and sprocket it should go in just as the one before was....any difference is not a good sign and will rub or break something usually...

Is the area on the hub flat all the way around or are there bosses sticking up where sprocket bolts on? B)

it sounds like it didnt seat on the hub....the raised radius of the hub and hole of sprocket are binding up....maybe. could use a round sanding hub on a drill and releive the hole on the sprocket a tiny bit.

the thing is, the original (stock) sprockets are more rectangular while the new ones are rounder... possibly the older hubs were larger or maybe its for a mag, not aluminum spoke.. shit i put up one tab on each locknut, switched to the unused ones and they were wicky woo to begin with lol

The hub and sprocket are tight tolerances and need to be just right. I powdered coated my sprocket and it wouldn’t seat the hub. I had to remove the PC. Can you sand the radius of the sprocket abit to open up hole.....not to much, should be able to seat sprocket by hand a turn it when seated with abit of tension....dont touch the hub. I went to a round hole sprocket....dosent mean anything...its the dia of the sprocket hole.
