Why is oil leaking from here!!! was created by TheJoshManKZ
Idk what the heck this hole is, but motor oil looks as though it is boiling and leaking/spitting out of it. It gets messy quick and is very annoying and potentially dangerous. Please help!!

Don't know the model off hand, but it sure looks like the bolt for the camchain tensioner goes in that hole, wouldn't recomend running it till that is verified/fixed

It's leaking because you are missing the bolt that belongs in that hole and its washer. That is your cam chain tensioner, and I would suggest you check to see how you are suppose to adjust it because as it is now I would expect your cam chain to be out of adjustment. Here's the picture of what;s missing:

Hi Josh, You have the good double wedge automatic tensioner. You just need a short bolt and washer to cap it. Don't use a long one or it will keep the plunger from going in against the cam chain. The original bolt was used to screw into the hole without the washer. This would keep the push rod from coming out when you remove the tensioner. With the washer on, the bolt doesn't touch the push rod, and lets it float. Bob

I would remove the tensioner, check & lubricate it, & reinstall as per the factory manual. You may need to get a new gasket. Ape or Krieger manual tensioners

If the engine is not making a lot of noise I would install the bolt and ride on. But that is just me.
