Best 1000?

How come I understood what monty732 was trying to build?
It's a style of bike for those of you who want to know. Light, fast, quick accelerating, stoplight to stoplight fast, think............cafe racers from the 50's -60's England, think Bobbers from the 40's-50's America.

When I see a modern street racer from the 90's-2000's I think "bar hopper". It's just a term.

Methinks the term people are groping about for is "TT Racer". It encompassed a whole class of machines from the 50s and 60s.

And while "TT" stood for "Tavern to Tavern", it was a euphemism, not designed to incite the passions of latter-day Carrie Nation-types.

and a naked zx600, bobbed, big back sprocket, short pipes, should be easy to do for under $500 and maybe under $100 if not in a hurry. about 20HP less than most old litre bikes and about 100lb lighter. guy i know near atlanta stripped one down, chopped frame and added approx 2" addition on down tubes, bobbed the hell out of it, painted all flat black, and used a bicycle saddle. Cheap, loud, obnoxious, and a rocket between redlights.

in my experiance the best 900-1000 tends to be whatever you have sitting in your garage at the time,theyre all pretty tough.

Uhhh, that's a big negatory there, Curley. TT stood for Tourist Trophy, as in Isle of Man Tourist Trophy .

You're thinking of a cafe racer , which is probably not what this dude is going for. He's probably shooting for more of a rat bike .
