03 Dec 2011 00:35 - 03 Dec 2011 00:46For future reference, it sometimes pays to order several smaller items together for combined shipping costs in the same package.SCHWACKS wrote: $2.99 plus $8.60 for shipping! Anyway, I ordered it. Thanks for the link and all the help!
For instance, such things as exhaust gaskets, spark plugs, in-line fuel filters, etc. that are going to be needed sooner or later.
If a Kawasaki dealership is close enough, might want to compare bottom-line out-of-pocket expense between picking up at the dealership and mail-order.
Easy enough to telephone the dealer, ask for parts department, give'em the part number, and ask'em how much and how long.
Good Fortune!

Are you in B.F.E.?

Seems to me that if a NetFlix DVD can be mailed just about anywhere for a 45¢ stamp, then the less fragile washer should be the same.
What's the rest of the story? Perhaps requested over-night special delivery?

Ordered anything from Z1E this year? Their shipping charges are why I've been ordering most parts elsewhere.

Well ordering 1 small Item on the Internet is usually not going to be cost effective. When I need some single small Item it works out much cheaper to shop locally/ Dealer.
I got a huge box of stuff from Z1 and the shipping was about the same, so then it was a great deal. But you wouldn't want to order just some small amount of stuff, from anywhere really. Some sites are just Drop Shippers and the freight can really add up, separate Warehouses for a bunch of different parts.

Absolutely! That washer is still available from Kawasaki so any dealer could order it in. They would almost certainly charged a little more for the part itself, but it still would cost less than the shipping fee. Z1E and other online dealers are great sources for buying parts, but I try to order enough stuff at one time to easily recover the shipping fees. Ed

I'm envious of those of you with local dealers, the nearest one to me is 40 miles away.
And shipping on even a washer would be cheaper than the cost of gas for a round trip to the dealer. The local dealer that started in business selling and servicing Kawasaki motorcycles is now a Harley only dealer.

We do have a $7 minimum on shipping - but we don't have any order minimums like most of our competitors. Once over the $7 minimum our shipping charges are based on actual shipping costs.... In fact, we pass on ALL our Fedex volume discounts to customers - and we pass on post office discounts to international customers.
We don't and never will have 'free shipping'. There's no such thing as free shipping - it's just a question of how much extra you end up paying in product prices.. Companies mark up product to cover shipping - and never make a loss on shipping.
