Great description Patton thanks...and it really does make perfect sense now.
The bike is down right now, waiting on new timing chain tensioner from APE.
But I am dying to know if tighting my loose exhaust bolts fixed the leak for good, I'll keep you posted and thanks for the tips!

If the oil leak isn't fully resolved, would clean the engine and allow it to dry, then spray foot powder around the exhaust ports (and any other suspected leak areas).
Then start the engine and observe where the oil leak stains the powder.
Get down close and personal to the engine, and use a flashlight if needed.
There might be more than one leak area.
If leak around an exhaust clamp persists even after snugging the clamp nuts, new copper exhaust gaskets are likely needed.
Good Fortune!

thanks Patton! still waiting on my new cam chain tensioner until I fire her back up and do the foot powder test.

Well got the timing chain tensioner installed so I was able to fire her back up and unfortunately the oil leak is still happening. I determined the oil leak is coming from between the head and bottom end.
My plan is to re-torque the cylinder head nuts...hopefully that will resolve the oil leak.
I'm all ears if anyone else has ideas.

My leak from that area was from a broken cam chain tunnel O ring. I don't know if yours is so equipped.

Re-torque is a good idea.
As known, should be done on a cold engine (after sitting overnight is best).

If available, a photo might help diagnosis.

here is a shot of the oil leak...it is located right where the internal cylinder head bolt is located on the front of the motor. I was thinking about taking out the cams and re-torquing those bolts (along with all the cylinder head nuts) but the manual says it is only necessary during first tune-up after purchasing the bike new.
But I figure it can't hurt to re-torque them or can it?
I have completed the following in efforts to repair it:
1) full tach seal/housing rebuild, with new tach cable
2) cam end plugs not leaking
3) new valve cover gasket, valve cover re-torqued
4) exhaust nuts re-torqued

Won't hurt to attempt a re-torque on a stone cold engine (after sitting overnight), and best to not "loosen" any nut a little bit before re-torquing to spec. Betcha' they aren't loose.
Thanks for the pics, but can't really tell too much, because was expecting and wanting to see a dark spot on white powder.
Torquing exhaust clamp nuts often doesn't help where a new copper gasket is needed.
A new valve cover gasket often leaks unless the mating surfaces have been first returned to a perfectly clean as-new condition. This means not even a tiny speck of black residue remaining on any part of the surfaces.
A leak-down test may help diagnose and verify a possible leak in the head gasket.
And would do this before removing the head.
New tach drive inner shaft seal and new o'ring(s) around the tach drive case should rule out the tach drive as a possible oil leak source.
Good Fortune!

Sorry the pics are not clear but in real life it seemed pretty obvious where the oil is coming from. But as you said the pics are not very telling.
The surfaces were meticulously cleaned before installing valve cover gasket, confident it is not that gasket. Could however still be the exhaust connection, I have not inspected the copper gaskets there, yet.
Anyway moving into a new house this weekend WITH A 2 CAR GARAGE!!! So I will have the proper setup to take care of the KZ.
Patton...will take foot powder pics after I get setup in new garage.

So i finally got around to working on the bike again, been setting up my new garage/workshop. I checked all valves, reshimmed as needed, and re-torqued all cylinder head nuts. And since I had to take out the exhaust cam I also re-torqued the cylinder bolt located in the timing chain well. I followed the directions that came with my torque wrench and broke all the nuts loose first.
So far no more oil leaks!!
